Playgroup Commences at John Wollaston in Term 2
John Wollaston Anglican Community School is pleased to be launching Playgroup in Term 2, offering families a welcoming and relaxed introduction to early learning within the School community.
Designed for children from birth to 4 years of age, Playgroup provides a gentle first step into a school environment. It is a space where children can explore, play and begin building confidence, while parents and carers connect with others and become familiar with life at John Wollaston.
Led by experienced Early Years educator Miss Tamara Bailey, the program focuses on simple, play-based experiences that support each child’s development at their own pace. Children are encouraged to explore a range of activities, from sensory play and creative experiences to outdoor play and group time, all within a calm and supportive setting.
Each session follows a consistent and predictable routine, helping children feel secure as they settle in. Families can expect a balance of free play, shared mat time, morning tea and outdoor exploration, creating a rhythm that supports both learning and belonging.
Importantly, Playgroup is a shared experience. Parents and carers remain with their child throughout the session, strengthening that sense of connection and allowing children to engage confidently in a new environment.
Sessions will be held in the School’s purpose-built Early Learning Centre, with small group sizes to ensure each child is supported and known.
Playgroup at John Wollaston is offered free of charge as part of the School’s commitment to supporting families and building strong connections within the community.
Families interested in joining Playgroup in Term 2 are encouraged to contact the Early Learning Centre to register their interest.
We look forward to welcoming new families and beginning this journey together.
