Art on the Scarp

Year 5 students recently took part in the inspiring Art on the Scarp excursion, where 23 students came together to create a collaborative artwork reflecting the 2026 JWACS theme, Walking together, Growing together, Stronger together.

We created our nature artwork around a beautiful big tree. Students split into three teams and each created one part of the theme. They planned their ideas together and creatively represented them using natural materials around our tree. All teams worked so well together and were very open to sharing their ideas and encouraging one another. Some amazing creative thinking took place.

Their artwork was on display as part of the 2026 Armadale Arts Festival, alongside works from other schools and professional artists. A huge thanks to Mrs Steph Haug for her support on the day and for providing so many natural materials for us to use from her incredible garden, and to Glyn Teape and David Crawford for their ongoing support.
