Cook & Care

Our recent P&F Cook & Care initiative, held on Saturday 6 June, was a beautiful demonstration of our school community coming together in service and compassion. With hearts and hands united, students and caregivers prepared meals for families in our community who could use a little extra support.

The atmosphere in the kitchen was truly something special. Laughter, music and teamwork filled the space as participants worked side by side – creating not only delicious meals but also meaningful connections and new friendships. It was inspiring to see students and caregivers enjoying themselves while contributing to something bigger than us all.

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who helped make the day such a success. A special acknowledgement to the wonderful Wendy Brinner, who generously gave up her entire Saturday to bring our vision to life and guided the use of the industrial kitchen. Sincere thanks also to our volunteers, including Stacey Walton and Dave Crawford, and to all who donated time, resources and energy. Your generosity and willingness to support others are deeply appreciated.

While the meals themselves will certainly make a difference to those receiving them, the impact reached far beyond the kitchen. The meals were delivered the following weekday to St Matthew’s Armadale, again with thanks to Wendy for ensuring they reached their destination with care.

The experience left many of our students feeling inspired, encouraging them to look for more ways to support their families, friends and the wider community. It was a powerful reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can create lasting change.

Thank you for helping make this initiative so meaningful and memorable. We’re already looking forward to the next Cook & Care event in Term 3, please keep an eye out for the confirmed date soon.
