About the event

Sideshow Shenanigans Here is your chance to rediscover the magic of the Big Top while learning what really goes on behind the scenes at an old west sideshow. Sideshow Shenanigans is a story that takes you back to a more wild and wooly time in California history when the circus came to old San Juan Capistrano’s back in 1871. This Melodrama is a story that takes you back to those bygone days of when you waited the whole year for the circus to come back to town. You will be introduced to the Circus Ringmaster Professor Dante Inferno, fall in love with Cantankerous Kate, the circus’s quick-draw artist, and be enthralled with the sideshow’s sooth-sayer Madame Zorelda.

Hoods* - Suitable for ages 13+ Each night two hoods ride a train to a wrecking yard on the outskirts of the city. Here, in this cemetery of stories, they are storytellers with the power to fast forward, pause and rewind. Tonight, they tell the story of three kids left in a car. Rewind. It’s Friday, KFC night and the last day of school before Christmas. Kyle, Jessie and baby brother Troy are waiting in the car for their mum. As night approaches the car park takes on a dark and sinister aspect filled with strange and familiar characters. The shopping centre closes, Mum still hasn’t returned and the baby won’t stop crying. PLEASE NOTE: The production of Hoods contains domestic violence and suicidal themes and is not suitable for children under the age of 13. We recommend families with children under the age of 13 leave after the first production during the intermission.
