The Science Department at John Wollaston is dedicated to providing students with enriching learning experiences that encourage them to explore and understand the phenomena of the world around them. .
In Years 7 to 10, students follow the Western Australian (WA) curriculum, encompassing three strands: Science Understanding, (Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth and Space Science and Physical Science) Science as a Human Endeavour and Science Inquiry Skills. The Department also offers exciting elective options which include Science Innovation, Biomedical Science and Psychology.
Our students have also achieved success in competitions, representing Australia in the FIRST LEGO League at the World Championships in Houston, Texas. We participate in numerous scientific competitions throughout the year, and students are supported and encouraged to seek out STEM opportunities for further development.
In Years 11 and 12, John Wollaston offers courses of study in Biology ATAR, Physics ATAR, Chemistry ATAR, Human Biology ATAR and General, Psychology ATAR and General and Science in Practice General.
