There was much anticipation and excitement in the Primary School this morning when the Commissioning of the Primary Leaders was held in the BDISC. Over the first few weeks of term our Year 6 students have been part of leadership sessions with Mrs Tracey Rogers, Mr Glyn Teape and Year 6 teachers, to explore the meaning of leadership. These sessions culminated in students delivering speeches declaring their interest in being a Captain for 2026.
Year 6 students arrived at this event hoping that they would be announced as a Captain for the year ahead. Many congratulations go to those students voted in. Well done also to the humility showed by those who didn’t receive a captaincy but have learnt that leadership is ‘more than just a badge’.
This event was also a good way to acknowledge our Class Representatives for the semester ahead. We look forward to their contribution to the School and thank in advance Mrs Godfrey for all her work with the Class Representatives.
It was an honour to have the CEO of AngliSchools, the Reverend Peter Laurence OAM, join us to acknowledge our leaders and speak to the students. We look forward to seeing our Captains lead the Primary School through 2026.
